Hi Lolo,

I'm sorry to hear that. Please send me your details and I'll try to locate this end, and then let you know your details (need business name, category and area).

Please send to: info@classifiedblue.co.uk

Many thanks,
Emily

Hi,

I think the issue we are having (which you rightly picked up on) is that potential listings are clicking on the main category links on site homepage (e.g. Independent Escort Services) which in-turn goes to a page showing the areas currently where we have Independent Escorts listed, e.g. http://classifiedblue.co.uk/service/Inde...t-Services

Subsequently business owners are rightly thinking that their area is not covered, whereas the scenario is that when a listing is added, and the area is not currently covered, then it will subsequently appear. Anyway, clearly this needs to be addressed to avoid further confusion so we will endeavour to change asap.

Thanks for raising this,
Emily

1. Enter the home page and all looks good, clean and informative, structure looks good like many choices make your selection from the UK business categories available.

2. Choose the Independent Escort Services section and you are taken to an area listing page

This is where it loses the plot, how on earth did anybody choose those areas for listings? 80% of the areas listed are small local villages

Creech Saint Michael ~ I had to google this one, most of the other "Villages" I have heard of but this was a complete mystery and I thought I knew nearly every village & post code in the UK off by heart.

Creech St. Michael is a village and civil parish in Somerset, England, situated three miles east of Taunton in the Taunton Deane district. The village has a population of 2,464.

There is NO logical structure to the defined areas, they appear to be very random and due to them being in alphabetical order the above is at opposite ends of the listing from Taunton which is just 2-3 miles away.

The above also applies to Brighton and Hove and probably many others.

I would suggest that the locations are URGENTLY re thought and that the listings take up three columns on the page to balance the look of the area listings page

Sarah

PS Hope that is constructive enough

Hi Sarah,

Many thanks for your time and feedback (very constructive - it was only the 'crap' reference I took offence to by an earlier poster, which was not you I hasten to add Smile ).

It would appear that the confusion lies in the fact that when you click on a link from the homepage (e.g. Independent Escort Services) then you are taken to a page showing only the areas where we currently have listings (based on the locations that have been added to-date). Subsequently (and understandably) users and prospective businesses who see this page rightly assume that these are the only areas we cover.

Overall, it was one of those examples where it was developed with the best intentions, but has turned out to be a major flaw. Naively we thought that a majority of users would put category and location in the search boxes on the homepage, however if we have quick links so prominent then I guess it's inevitable that users will use them!

So yes, a big hands up (and apology) from this end (you live and learn!) The whole location structure and links/layout of homepage are being addressed, so thanks to you and others on this thread who have fed back to-date.

We will get there (and hopefully all of you with listings will over-time benefit).

Will keep you posted.

Thanks again,

Emily

That is all fine except that I have just clicked on the link, got the list and there is nothing for worcester. Kate has been on a week and she still hasnt appeared. (Sorry Kate but using you as an example as I had mentioined the link before).

Got to say though that it is good Emily that you are being pro-active and hopefully the clitches on the site are sorted soon.

BTW, I can understand your frustration when someone says something is crap but one person's crap is another person's needs improvement! In my work, crap isnt necessarily as bad as it sounds! (but then I am a farmer Big Grin )

Thanks for letting me know Monty. Again, will investigate via our Developers.

All forgotten re the 'crap' reference (you caught me at a wrong time, that's all!) Wink

Keep the feedback and suggestions coming (they're proving invaluable).

All the best,
Emily
