That may have come out wrong when I said have been known to be 40 minutes early.

I wouldnt go into an appointment until my time, particularly if seeing a lady.

I would rather get somewhere early and wait, that way I can make sure I arrive promptly.

Vulcan is right, I always aim to be on time - rather be 40 minutes early and have to wait than be 5 minutes late. I wasearly for Lolo and waited round the corner (was determined to be right as her first meeting in Kent )

If running late, call the person. You know they shouldnt be busy! as they are waiting for you. Common curtesy and it ensures a meet doesnt get off to a bad start.

With the advent of route planners, like google maps or auto route, and ever cheaper GPS systems there is really no excuse to not at least call if traffic holds you up. I am almost never late, the only reason I have been late recently, is an insatiable lady! But even then, I phone to say I will not be on time, before I am due!
I had a colleague who was due at an appointment at 14:00, who phoned me in the office to say he was lost, at 16:00, boy did he get both barrels from me and the client, and then six months later he was first out the door, and he still didn't understand the problem! Some people are just clueless!

My skip man was meant to collect on the 26th and arrived this morning unannounced and got me out of bed from my first lie in for days!!! Grrrr!!! I had to get out and move my vehicle, so got dressed and everything! Not impressed.

My clients are given very precise instructions with the timings, getting them to confirm their departure.

Should they take it upon themselves to arrive early then that is their prerogative and they take the chance as to whether or not I am ready. If I am, great if not, they will have a coffee somewhere. The courtesy they took in making a timely arrival is much appreciated.

If they are late I will not see them again. Yes indeed life happens, as does mine proceed in an onwards, zero tolerance bullshit free direction!
