Locked out of account by email verification

Having originally verified my e-mail address several years ago I am now being asked to re-verify. However I have no idea which of the my countless e-mail addresses I used all of those years ago and there is no way to recover that information (in fact, the address I used has likely been deactivated).

I cannot change my registered e-mail without knowledge of my current e-mail. I can recover my password and nickname so why can't I recover my e-mail/change my e-mail without knowledge of my previous one?

Enter a random email address into the old email address field, eg IDontRemember@Sorry.Com
