Hello there,
I am new on the forum and a bit lost. I am sure that question has been answered before but I simply cannot find any answer.
Fact is, I have apply to open a new current bank account to Lloyd Bank and I need to go to a branch to provide ID and address justification.
I am certain the person at the desk will ask me about my job and I have no idea what to answer... Freelance? Performer? Artist?
I have not registered yet as Self Employed but will do after this account is opened. Or should I first get registered as freelance?
It is only recently that I have decided to become legal and taken camming seriously to become my job. Now I am a bit confused
on how to do all the administrative steps...
Could you give me some hints, please?

Banks are so difficult! Do you already have a current account? If so, I'd tend to use that until you feel you want a separate account for your business. By the way you
don't have to use a separate account for your business if you don't want to. HMRC don't insist on it.
I've written
an article on my website on what business description you should use.
PM me if you want any advice or
contact me through my website.

Thanks for the answer.
I do already have an account at Barclays and its fine with DailyPay. My problem is that I am also a model for MyFreeCams and Barclays refuses payment from that website since November or so.
I don't know why! So at the moment I receive the money on a French bank account (thats where I am from but now live in the UK) and I want to receive all my payments on a same account to make things easier for me.
Why banks are so difficult?

Hopefully another member will be able to tell you which banks "approve" of MyFreeCams and then it's "just"a matter of opening an account with them.
Picking a description is never easy. Make sure you're totally happy with it and you can discuss your "business" with the bank (if necessary) when you open the account.
Good luck.

Thanks for the reply. I could easily tell the bank that I am a French tutor as I have the French nationality but how do I explain that my income is sent by a certain Collin (daily pay) and that the amont varies all the time?
Or is it easier to say I am an video artist? Something like that?

You can really say what you like, so long as when it comes to doing your tax return and you're claiming expenses etc it ties in well with the title you've given yourself.

I don't think the expenses have to tie in with the description Ana_X.
In very simple terms HMRC are only concerned about you paying the correct amount of tax. Provided you are declaring all your income and claiming
all (tax) allowable expenses HMRC won't be bothered how you describe your business. The question will not arise anyway until you're selected for a tax inquiry, which may never happen.
Then, and only then, would you have to tell HMRC that your business description doesn't "fully describe" what you do. HMRC have to treat this as confidential anyway. Tell them what you do and they will allow all the (tax allowable) expenses you've claimed.
Yes, even if you call yourself a French Teacher you can still claim the cost of condoms, work related clothing, accessories, etc.
