Anyone suffer from migraines? i used to get a few a week, then i was treated for a prolactinoma and had my 2nd child then I had none for the past 3 yrs..
Woke up this am with a huge blind spot that got bigger, flash lights n all, so have taken some tablets, so will see what happens sometimes i can get the lights and no head ache but then also i can be knocked out by it.

Doesn't help i got so stressed at the thought of the dentist the other day and the fact that so far this week robyn has continued to wake at 3-4 am an not really go to sleep, plus school have start saying that my son has started playing up at school again.
I really don't want the migraines back I can't cope with them.

I unfortunately get them just before a period, I once cured it by accupuncture and might try it again.

Touch wood I have never had one. The last time I had a severe headache was over 20 years ago and led to a brain virus.

I do have a friend who has suffered with them all her life. She has been told that additives can lead to them (much like the dogs) so keep away from high additive content food and drinks. Also there are some glasses with a colour tint in them that can help and I've noted various things in the past. Have a look on line to see if you can find out some tried and tested cures.

Unfortunately as yet, they have not found anything that works with her, although she did have about 6 months on some tablets that was clear, but sadly just as she thought she had beaten it, they started again.

i started getting them when I was about 10 once a month the doctor monitored them and put it down to the onslaught of puberty as soon as my periods started they stopped.

Had odd ones over the years but when I fell pregnant with my second son they started of again once every 4 weeks when my period would have been due.

I do still get them very occasionally but have no idea what triggers them of now I do find though if I take a couple of paracetemol straight away it ewases the symptoms doesnt stop it altogether but does help

I have alot of headache problems made worse by a head injury 4 years ago. I get tension headaches and migraines. Thankfully the migraines are few and far between these days, I used to be in bed 2/3 days a week because of them. I have been light sensitive or "photophobic" since my accident, I got my lenses tinted for the first time recently and that seems to have helped alot.

I take an anti depressant tablet at night as this is where all my stresses do there worse hence the tension headaches.

Stress causes my brain to just shut down which is rather inconvenient and also means I cant drive as now being in the car I just switch off, I wouldn't even call it sleep I just shut down. Very bizarre and annoying! Confused

That is how I would describe my melt down a few weeks ago, but I married it up with the brain virus as the headache felt just the same. How would you describe the stress headache? It would be nice to know it is a normal response to stress and not likely to pay me a full blown revisit. This is why I reduced to 3 days aweek, although I do feel over it now, it it wasn't for something else happening next week, I would go back to full time.

I had a mixture of all those things. Sickness out of the blue followed by horrendous headaches. Sometimes sickness followed by a really bad pain behind one eye. It would completely drain me for that day, and sometimes the next. Shut down is a regular occurrence for me.... hence not driving since I managed to write my car off.
I've now been taking beta blockers for a year or two. They are propranolol. I take one a day. If I forget for a couple of days, then the sickness and migraines start again - so at least I know they are working. Shut down/constant sleeping hasn't stopped though.

From Wiki: Propranolol is a sympatholytic non-selective beta blocker. Sympatholytics are used to treat hypertension, anxiety and panic. It was the first successful beta blocker developed. ...
Propranolol is one of the banned substances in the Olympics, presumably for its use in controlling social anxiety (stage fright) and tremors.
