I did used to have a regular who said he was a surgeon who offered to help me mount my mirror for a freebie session. I told him I could manage by myself and was shocked at his offer, but then he keeps asking me to go to music festivals with him as friends and implying he would like to date me. I think he just wants a freebie and he's not once considered that being around 15 years older than me and rather portly might not be the best offer I ever had. He is very self obsessed. At first glance I agree. But on thinking about it, I wonder if a discount offered on an occupational basis is a good thing. Other service jobs are hazardous, some severely lower paid too. Why not firemen or nurses for instance.
The bottom line for discounts is it should be at the individual providers discretion.

I guess if you live by a military base and you want to encourage that kind of clientelle then it would be beneficial to offer such a discount. It would be pretty pointless where I live as the nearest military base is in Hereford and it's not big. We don't really have a huge focal area of industry here come to think of it.

I won't travel to Hereford and in truth any bookings I have had from Hereford have not been great. It tends to consist of members of help the aged. Not my cup of tea.
